does it connect to a standard 4 pin power cable?

wait a minute, that can't be right...power cable doesn't tranfer data? So this is a 9-pin connector to motherboard then....do you know of any adapters to make this work if no 9pin connector is available?

It simply connects to where the USB cable goes on the MB

a 9 pin(5/4) is just a 2 port usb connector, with an extra ground pin(#5) on one row.
I have never seen an adapter so some rigging would be needed to work on a board with no pins.
cut and connect a usb cables 4 wires to the 4 wires on the 4 holes side on the 9 pin plug. bring it out a slot and plug it to a usb port on back of PC.
may have to do it twice as it might use 2 usb, one for the mem cards and one for the usb slot. just ignore the extra 5th lone pin/hole.
a little wiring work but only way if no pins on MB.
