No, this pattern is not difficult at all but for a beginning crocheter it might be a little much. i always recommend you learn to crochet stitches in rows first, then progress to working in the round which this pattern requires. I would highly recommend you go to YouTube.com, do a search for "learn crochet" and try a video tutorial there! They're all free so you can check out as many as you want. Many people find it easier to learn by watching videos!
