Offering a matched pair of Chrome Diopside Semi-precious loose Gemstones, the total weight of the stones are 1.85 ct. 8x6mm in size.
Chrome diopside certainly won't win any contests for the most beautiful name. To most people, it sounds more like a car polish than a gemstone. But don't be misled by that! Chrome diopside has a beautiful rich green colour, in fact it is the most affordable gemstone in a pure rich green. On the Mohs scale it has a hardness of 5.5 - 6, , so it is a better choice for earrings or a pendant than for a ring which will receive a lot of wear. Chrome Diopside has nearly twice the refraction index compared to emerald. It is a stone with few inclusions and when cut finely it is extremely scintillating with a brilliant shine.
Christmas is fast approaching and what a gift it would be, made into Earrings for that someone special, or double the gift giving by making into 2 necklaces.

I own a few of these loose Chrome Diopside's and they are very green so you will want a bright light colored stones small to position around this stone and you will see it's very lovely

Hi; What we usually do is have our Jewler go through his pile of old jewelry and find a small stone to set in the mounting, I also have a pair that have a deep setting into gold mountings, they catch the light from both underneath and on top, I don't know exactly what we pay for the mountings, it's something like $20.00 for 14k gold, I have had mine a long time and still love them and get tons of compliments. Thanks for looking and passing on a good idea.
