Description

The listing, Heirloom Tomato ✽ HILLBILLY ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.

An Ohio heirloom beefsteak originally from West Virginia producing 1-2 lb. huge, heavily-ribbed, orange-yellow fruit with red mottled skin and red streaks within. Very sweet, fruity flavors and low acid. When our other bi-colors slowed down production last year, this one stepped up to bat in extreme drought and record heat. This year it was a huge producer all summer long.

Days: 85
Size: indeterminate
Season: mid to late-season
Color: bicolor
Type: OP Heirloom
Uses: slicing, salads, fresh eating

This Auction: You will be receiving 15 seeds from my garden. They will be sent First Class mail. I only take Paypal for International bidders, I do combine any additional auction seeds (within 5 days) for no additional shipping charge. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 70°F in the spring of 2013. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Stake or cage the plants for support and to prevent sprawling on the ground.

Yep, it is difficult to choose favorites when I grow so many, but this would be one of them. They are amazing!
