These are beautiful handcrafted original , one of a kind , sterling silver(YES! REAL!!!) earrings for pierced ears (posts are sterling too! Safe for anyone who cannot wear alloys!) The Turquoise is also real and looks to be very good color. the signature looks to be C. or L. then Pin Later(?) then Zuni , N.M. as best as I can tell a specialist ,I am sure would know the signature immediately. I debated whether to list these under jewelry or collectibles , because I am sure they are also highly collectible!This pair of earrings has the early green color which is highly sought after, and I believe it is what is called "Needlepoint " style which is also very collectible. One pair of earring called "Birdcage " went for over $300 on Ebay recently, very similar to these.There are many books including a "Who's Who " of Zuni artists, I don't have it but you can research these earrings and I'm very confident they are quite valuable.I bought them years ago when I was working in a framing store, a man who travelled back and forth to the Southwest sold me these on one of his many trips. I bought tons of Native American Jewelry and Pottery over the course of 8 yrs. and much of it I resold. I kept these for years because they were so light in weight , and delicate, and such a great color, I just kept them. Now,I'm cleaning out the jewelry drawers and it's time for them to find a new home! I am starting the bidding at 2500 since these are really for the serious collector of Native American Sterling signed pieces, which are increasing daily in value., and that is probably a grave underestimate of their true value. And yes, I am sure some of you might think, these are just a pair of earrings, but that just isn't the case. The Native Americans make some of the finest most beautiful jewelry in the world , and these are a true piece of American History , made by the first Americans of which only are a small percent of our population(less that ten percent) ,the Zunis are among the best .
