The listing, Vintage Wooden Carved Jewerly Box with Mirror has ended.

Vintage Wooden Box is a Great Find!! It is ducktailed on hinged. One of the Hinges is a little loose but is still into the wood. I have been told that women would call these a Marriage box or Keepsake Box. They would keep important papers in it such as marriage or birth certificates. Im not sure how old it is and I dont know much more about it. This is just one of those things that anyone would be proud to own.

You are right, my sister had one of these. Most were made of cherry and some cedar. The little hardware bits are fragile for the heavy construction of the box. Very pretty.
