Offered is an original 7/8" World War II era sales tax token of 2 mills. This one is made of hard red plastic with very clear readable embossed letters and numbers.

The front obverse and reverse are the same.

This red coin type numbered 2 sales tax token was used as change during transactions in Colorado. Colorado had a 2 percent sales tax from 1935 until 1945.

These 2 mill tokens were used when tax was less than a penny.

The tokens were typically issued in aluminum or plastic.

It has two concentric circles in the middle and reads COLORADO SALES TAX TOKEN on each side with the number 2 at the center within the two concentric circles.
