Named by Magellan, the Spanish explorer who would end up being killed there. His crew however sailed on and were credited with being the first ship to circle the global. Later a US territory after the Spanish American War, the island nation was given it's independence in 1946. This collection of stamps from over the last 60 years will fill a lot of spots in the stamp album.
