how do u use them?

They separate in half and you close them together around the door knob. Then you have to put your fingers between the holes on the sides to turn the knob. Little ones won't be able to turn it because they have small hands. They worked great with my daughter. It kept her out of rooms that weren't safe and kept her in her bedroom at night.
