Description

The listing, 1944 ORIGINAL president election DEWEY BRICKER political campaign tab button like mint FDR Roosevelt has ended.

Offered is an official ORIGINAL tin metal approx. 1 " lapel or pocket tab that promoted Thomas DEWEY and John BRICKER as the Republican candidates for President and Vice President against FDR Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1944.

Dewey had been NY Governor New York and Bricker the Governor of Ohio. Bricker thereafter started a law firm in Columbus.

As this is a lithographed political campaign unused fold over button type tab pin pinback there appears to be original paint smear during its manufacture.

The top of the tab shows the manufacturer Bastian Brothers Co. of Rochester, NY with union bug.

As a member of the American Political Items Collectors apic.us I only offer original campaign items.

Thanks for your comment. Great to be able to share original historic American political items that would have been distributed during presidential campaigns for others to collect and preserve for future generations!

Thank you for commenting. As I do not typically collect matchbooks (collectors are called phillumenists) I could not guide you as to the matches themselves, however, an internet guide suggests that the matches are often removed, which might not affect value. You might want to write to internet collectors for proper guidance prior to removing the matches.
