The listing, Personal Sound Amplifier has ended.

This device looks like an old transistor radio, but is actually a small amplified microphone that really turns up the ambient sounds. After I bought this,I turned it on and heard screaming crickets for the first time in years . . . had the volume turned up too high. This is used, but is a very functioning unit. What you see is what you get, minus my hand. It has a good 9v battery but you may want to change it. The black adapter at top is a mono-to-stereo jack, which then goes to the stereo earbuds. Unit produces only mono. This was a great method for me to hear until I got hearing aids. It could also be a great way to hear distant conversation or . . . ? Free shipping to the winning bidder.

I don't know if you've been tested, but my own hearing has lost the top 25% of the normal range. High-pitched sounds (like crickets) and watch alarms are beyond me. This loss started in the Marine Corps when I drove trucks a lot with the exhaust stack next to my ear. I though it was cool, then, and thought the ringing was normal. Ah, the intelligence we have when we're 22, eh? Gary

Brand is "Whisper 2000", "Tempest" is on the front. The model number is WS 2000.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Keep in mind this was sold originally as a novelty for eaves dropping and not intended for medical purposes for hearing -- although it worked like a champ for that.
