Description

The listing, Heirloom ✽ RUTGERS ✽ All-Purpose Tomato ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.

This is the tomato formulated for use by the Campbell's Soup Company. Fruit matures early and yields a great crop right up until frost. This was the very first red tomato in our garden this past summer. Perfect for stewing, canning, freezing, or eating right off the vine. Fruit is of consistant size and flavor, without pitting, cracking, or deep ridges. I've never gone a year without planting this one!

Days: 69-80
Size: semi-indeterminate
Season: early to mid-season
Color: red
Type: OP Heirloom
Uses: canning, sauce, salsa, slicing, juice, salads, fresh eating

This Auction: You will be receiving 15 seeds from my garden. They will be sent First Class mail for FREE in the United States. I only take Paypal for International bidders. I will also combine any additional auction seeds (within 5 days) for no additional shipping charge. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 65°F in the spring. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Stake or cage the plants for support and to prevent sprawling on the ground.
