Hey there, and thanks for your interest! This is a Sony VAIO XP Home Edition! I used it through High School & some College and it's had a lot of upgrades and has been EXTREMELY reliable! It does come with a charger, plus this XP has been equipped with extra battery life as well! The hard-drive on the computer works great but this computers backlight is out, and there is a problem in the startup while booting it. I do not have the Windows XP device CD installer, but simply popping in the software disc will allow you to boot up the computer normally. Also, the SCREEN isn't out just the backlight.

um you should not show the windows key sticker any one can you the code and it will become unusable and be black listed via Microsoft

You said it doesnt have windows xp..I dont really know what that is..my desk top runs windows 7 does this table? and how hard woul it be to fix the back lite..what is the backlite?

It runs Windows 7. As for the back light, I'm not sure. A friend of mine said its an easy $50 fix, but he works on computers. I really don't know for sure.

I think you'll find that the screen size is 17" measured diagonlly, according to model # in one of the pics. Sony PCG-8Q5L 17"

What happened to the backlight? Did it just randomly go away when you were using it? Have you tried connecting this to your TV/monitor to see if there is anything?

Can you be sure that it is just the actual CCFL s (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps).that are not working or could it possibly be the Inverter that powers them, that also needs replacing?
