I am taking a gamble on this. First I want to welcome you to Listia!! I sell quite a bit of jewelry, rings, necklaces and my own European style bracelets, so, I have some good ideas about successful listing.
You are a new seller, and, it is very helpful to have more details. A clearer picture would help. Back up and take the picture. Trying to get a close up view does not work by getting closer. Back up and use the zoom aspect on your camera.
If you are going to sell a ring, the size is absolutely a must have detail! Just like necklace chains and pendant size. Bidders want to be able to visualize it on their finger or neck. Next is the metal. is it plated, sterling, any stamps? Another must have is stone size if at all possible. I use a site called Ajediam.com to figure out the carat size of my stones. They have all shapes and dimensions in chart form. Invest in a little millimeter ruler if you do not already have one. The site simply asks for the measurements of the stone. If it is a round or brilliant cut, measure across it. Look on the size guide and you will find the carat size. Very simple.
When you mentioned baguettes that got my interest up enough to bid. I know it can be tricky with so little information, but, I have come out the winner just by taking chances!!
I wish you the very best of luck and if i can ever be of any help, please do not hesitate to ask!! Bunny
