This is a Lego Writing System Pen. I believe it is an Archaeologist pen.

It has Lego pieces that you can interchange to change its look. there is a block of spiders, a shipping box, a snake, 2 men and a treasure map block. On the side are 6 more pieces: another man, a blue jewel (bead), red jewel (bead, a man with a monocle and what looks like 3 'gears'.

I bought this in the early 2000's. I haven't used it which is why I'm trying to find a home for it. I'm getting rid of the clutter and hope this pen will find a good home.
