I thought I might throw you some insights as well. I have found that 1000 points turns out to be equal to about $1.00. So right now that you have 10,500 points, you wouldn't even break even on a medium size flat rate box. I'm not telling you this to discourage you. You have a nice auction and you might get a lot more points for it. But if you now offer a larger box and the points don't go up more, you'll be losing money on the deal. That's always something to consider when you start adding things to a box. If you can get a postal weighing machine (look on ebay) you can weigh your box and check it against the usps mailing charts before you even list items and the next time you make an offer, you will know what to expect. I have shipped free except for one time and I offered to pay half and the bidder was fine with that. Just try to stay away from paying to give your things away. I wish you the best of luck on Listia. I've met so many nice people here. It seems many on here are willing to pass along their experience so others can be successful.

Oh how this box has grown! It will still go priority but it has bulged at the seams and demanded new packaging. I know it sounds crazy, but I want the space more than the credits, and save just as much by not paying paypal fees. I do a LOT of ebay, and have learned that mailing is all about size, weight, and distance! Thank you, I appreciate how everyone here is so much kinder and more generous with time, information, and goods to be traded than ebay. Not to bash it, I love it, but I never received this much help or kindness there!

Ok you are new here so i don't think you can do the opitions but if you can you will find it above the submit button and you can put your own starting fee. it also has a gin but i think your still too new for that. everything you need is in the option button above the submit button or below the location. it does work better and will get you more bids if you offer free shipping. make sure you post description on your items and make sure you state everything that might be wrong with item. it will help you more easy with the bidders. you have any question that i can help you with let me know. good luck

Wow! Thanks! I tried to describe everything in more detail but it limits the number of characters you have to describe your items. (Hence, the details listed in the thread replies) At this point the only thing I am really allowed to do is add things, like pics, but I'm not allowed to set my price or a buy it now option yet. (Soon too, because I have more groupings of things I want to post soon, and I appreciate the advice on shipping, I think I prefer to keep my paypal account out of it and just mail it myself).
Anyway, thanks again, I really appreciate the help!

You have such a good idea here. So much easier than piecing out your items and shipping each item one at a time. Actually this cost less in the long run and you probably get more credits a lot faster if not more total for having all in lots. Going to try your idea myself. I sell on ebay too and junk drawers are very popular there, this is like a junk drawer. Good luck newbie. I have done this awhile and enjoy it. Fun to buy and sell too. Have fun. You can ask me questions too if you need anything.

Thank you, and.. thank you! LOL! I can't claim responsibility for this idea though, I saw somebody else's auction that had some stuff combined together, mostly random perfume samples, nail polish and make-up-ey type stuff. I'm cleaning out so much stuff, I found a bunch more patterns and I am getting ready to do this again, although the next ones are 'similar but different' (Like the next one I am listing has a pattern for little black bears- SO CUTE) and lots more vintage, but later vintage, not quite as antique as this one. You are correct, this is a great way to unload stuff just laying around. Stuff you don't want to throw away, but nothing that compels you to have a yard sale!

shipping IS free. :) Local pickup is free-er, lol (for both of us) but I am covering the cost of the entire shipping total to anywhere in the United States. The extra things I added are just extras I decided to throw in for free, there is no cost or shipping charge for them, and it will all come in one big package. Thanks for your interest!

I hate to burst your bubble, but $1 does not get you 1000 points. You can buy points. The largest amount would be 16,000 points for $40. This comes to 400 points for every $1. It goes down from there. If you pay $5 for 1500 points that is 300 points for every dollar.

LOL, I just verified my paypal by purchasing one dollar's worth of points, I think I got like, 2, or 4, or something, but I really don't even plan on buying points, just accruing them from all the stuff I am about to post. Stay tuned ladies.........and I think maybe smaller lots are appreciated for the affordability, so, I'll be getting them on within the week. Thanks to ALL! :)

I just added a bunch of stuff to this package. Over a dozen new gift bags, some vintage gift paper (some used, some new), jewellery, magnets, and a brand new art cd featuring over 1000 works of art. This package should be fun to open! :) See the new photos for additions.

Patterns that are cut out that have non-sequential pieces (but I think they are all there) are Simplicity 5785. and the bunnies, ducks, bears pattern are cut out in different envelopes, with obvious identification to piece them together but there is no direction sheet in this pack. There are no pin marks on any of these patterns.

The sandblasting/ etching book (1980) is complete with all patterns at the end of the book, no writing on it, the crochet pamphlets are all complete no writing on them, The I <3 America pillow is complete with material ready to sew AND directions; the Native Spirits stencil is new in package, the Uncle Sam and Betsy Ross pattern is new in package, the Wonderland Placemats directions are new in package, the stencil/ iron on transfer kit is new, unopened, the "the girls' duck applique package is new, and all the little packages of Christmas stencils and doll hair are new. Most of the other items are new in package, the stamps are used but clean, and other various items are in good condition. I hope this helps, sorry it took so long! Let me know if you have any other questions! :)

Okay friends, here it is:
ALL design crochet patterns are fold out pages. They are complete, nothing cut out, but very small on the fronts of a few there is the name Ruth, and a couple numbers (measurements) on the front of a couple patterns. I opened every single one of them, they are all guaranteed. The Design 7407 transfer (tablecloth border edges) is also not used, (never stamped or cut out).
NEW packaged patterns, meaning old packaging but all patterns inside are guaranteed complete, not cut out. These include:
Simplicity 5495; Simplicity 9425 embroidery transfer; Simplicity 7360-ducks; McCall 857 Puffalump bunny; McCall 804 bunny; Simplicity 6148 ducks; McCall wedding dress design 9452 (only the sleeves are cut out, and this is a BIG pattern, all there!) Gingerbread house; gingham goose village and heart pillows are also all new, not cut out. And simplicity 7359 easter hat and eggs,Simplicity 6312 bunnies; Butterick 4237; and Aunt Marthas transfer is new.

Patterns cut out but guaranteed to be complete and NOT pinned (precision cut no rips ready to go) including directions are:
Cabbage Patch 331; McCalls 8456 (in separate envelopes labeled for each animal,) McCall crafts 748 and 8866 dolls; McCall 2629 bears; and Simplicity 7367 pajama bags....

I hate to claim ignorance on this, but I am a newbie and didn't even know I had that option Cher76. Essentially it is my first (successful) auction and I sorta just went through the instructions to list, which started it at 0. I'm not sure the procedure for that entire process, but how high would I even set them at?
I am about to go through each pattern, package by package, to list the ones that are new vs the ones that are already in pieces. (Although, MOST are new). But I will say, if this auction tops 8,000 I will add more patterns and change it to a LARGE flat rate mailer instead of a medium one! Why? I just have that many patterns and crafty items cluttering my house. So, the rest of the auction would include patterns as well as scrapbooking items. Back soon with the results of new vs. cut out. Thanks for your interest! (Fanned everyone here back!)

Is that even possible? I am brand new (sort of,my first auction the woman never paid me, so this is my attempt to kick off with a good start). Please see my reply below, I have decided to add to the listing if it goes up.
So, essentially, how would one go about setting a fixed price? This is similar but different from ebay, and I am still learning the ropes. I will check it out!
Thanks! :)

most of the older ones, but are well maintained and no rips! Most are prepared but never used, so you won't even find pinholes! :) I can give you the exact cut ones tomorrow, and which ones are brand new.

HUGE LOT of vintage craft and crochet patterns and a few misc. craft materials is in the Crafts | Sewing category
