Supplies: A light nail polish, rubbing alcohol, newspaper, water
*If you do not have rubbing alcohol on hand a similar effect can still be achieved by using regular water and greater pressure to the tacky polish. If you don't have an old newspaper around you can also tear pages from an old book.
Paint your nails in a light nail polish color. Let it dry to at least the tacky stage before moving on to the next step.
Cut newspaper into rectangles about the size of an average fingernail.
Prepare a solution of half rubbing alcohol and half water.
Wet nails either with a cotton ball or by dipping them into the solution. Wet one nail at a time.
While the nail is wet, press a newspaper square to the nail and hold for about five seconds.
Peel the wet newspaper from your nail.
Allow all nails to dry before applying clear polish to seal. You may use a q-tip dipped in nail polish remover to neaten up the edges and remove any excess ink.
