I don't know much about it, it's from Portugal and I believe it was replaced by the Euro currency.

After doing a little research, it looks like it's a Mozambican escudo. It'd be from the Republic of Mozambique in Africa. It was the currency until 1980 when it was replaced with the Mozambican metical. The official language of the country is Portuguese, so the name of the currency would be the same as the one used in Portugal.

Thanks everyone for your input. It has just been laying around, don't remember where I found it. I just hate to throw it away, and don't know who I'd give it to, so thought I'd try listing it on here.
