Would these appropriate for storing dried herbs? I'm not very metric, so can you tell me approximately how tall these containers are, in inches? Thanks!

May I ask what was inside of these vials before they were emptied? Just curious because they remind me of those kinds of bottles either for insulin or the kind for dog distemper shots? I love these kinds of bottles! Great for creating mini potions, etc. for Halloween! :) ♥
