Ipod classic 80GB with NO SOUND

My hubby's classic, very well taken care of. Always in a hard case. Always had (and still has) a screen protector on it. The sound cut out at first, with loud crackle noises, now nothing. We have tried on docking units and with headphone, earbuds and nothing. I read online to press down on the lower corner, that kinda works, briefly and you need a grip like a vise, but no. NO SOUND.

Did I mention this unit doesn't have audio?

ALL MEDIA WILL BE REMOVED PRIOR TO SHIPPING! I will have hubby wipe it for me :o)

Looks great but needs a new audio board, which I believe is connected to the mother board. Yeah I thought about attempting to fix it, even watched a few videos and priced the board, but then I realized I don't even change the batteries in the remotes without issues and got another Ipod on Listia a few weeks back.

NO SOUND!

I didn't know that. This was bought new by me from Wally world a few years back. I always referred to it as a classic, as compared to the nanos, touches, etc. Thank you!

Thanks, I can't change the description once I have bids. I hope this doesn't cause too much confusion. I just won the same model on Listia a few weeks ago, and it was also listed as a classic. Didn't make a difference to me, but I guess if you need to buy a replacement board or switch it out, that would be important. Sorry about that.

It is a classsic... It was called a classic back when this model was new and on the apple site. Google "ipod classic 5th generation" and boom there it is... :)
