I love it here.count down..oh yea lil cute purse..i want bad,,ur biggest fan
I have a card case like that, it's sterling, I wondered where it was from, mine was in my family, and they were in The Dutch East Indies Trade , way back. I thought maybe spain, because they do a lot of filagree, but could also bee Russian, I don't know.Mine is too small to be for cigarettes , but maybe calling cards. I haven't seen many like it , but this is made the same way! Lovely!!
I have had filigree pieces in the past.. but never a purse that opens as a pendant. I am not sure where this is from since it isn't marked anywhere that I can see.. I just got it because I thought it was unique :)
if you look at the picture of it open you will notice there is a loop on the inside of the lid of the purse, that loop is what makes it close by sliding inside if that makes sense.. there isn't a snap.. it shuts securely and stays shuts very nicely.. its really cool that whoever hand made this figured out how to use the loop to have it close securely
i had this very same necklace when i was a teenager, but it had a chain with large links.. I loved it. I gave it to my best friend some years ago. I believe it was made in the 1970s.
oops i meant to say that i wore it with a piece of cloth in it with a drop or two of essential oil or perfume. (your body heat helps disperse the scent.)
I had thought that would be a good idea.. or the prayer/wish idea some people do now.. write a prayer or wish on a piece of paper and put in it. Thank you so much for visiting my auction!!
