This over-sized book contains 608 pages of stories, drawings, maps, photos, and pictures and near the end of the book, included are several color photos as well (keep in mind this was the 60s. Most books contained very little color at best). The accompanying text describes in rich and realistic detail what life was like in the Old West, from the first pioneers and mountain men, to the Indian Wars and cow towns, explorers, rifles and handguns, animal life, western folklore and songs.
