I wish I can answer your question about this more accurately but unfortunately I had never used the item myself. I can only assume that the lighter plugger is to keep it on. The manual is seal so I won't opened it but the manual that comes with the item will give you a more accurate detail. This item can either be install by the person themselves or by a professional. However, keep in mind that a subscription is required in order to use this product. Thanks!
