This is a 1985 Circle K Collector's Series card for Ted Williams.

"The Splendid Splinter" is a sports institution. "Teddy Ballgame" twice left baseball to enlist in the service at wartime, fighting 3 years in World War II and two years in Korea. Wrapped around his war service, Williams --- possibly baseball's best student --- amassed an astounding .344 career batting average and 521 home runs. The last man to hit .400 in a single season (.406 in 1941), Ted Williams is more than a Hall of Famer; he is an American hero.
