Are they invasive and if so how much?

They can be very invasive if they aren't managed properly, but it is super easy to manage. Just don't plant next to a sidewalk home footings. The roots are runners that typically only run under the ground at a depth of about 6 inches and in a straight line. Thank you and God Bless You

How long does it take for them to reach 5 or more feet? And do they spread so much that they are hard to manage?

They should easily reach 5 ft in the first year.

Once rooted they grow in height extremely fast but take 2-3 years to reach full diameter maturity. They don't require lots of water to live but do require quite a bit to fully thrive at peak potential. Thank you and God Bless You
