Description

The listing, RARE Heirloom ✽ AZOYCHKA ✽ Beefsteak Tomato ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.

A very productive Russian heirloom found at the Bird Market in Moscow. Produces an abundant crop of meaty, yellow tomatoes with a luscious, sweet citrus flavor. Ripens with an orange cast and a slight blush on the blossom end. These were very productive, even in record heat and drought last summer. Good acid balance, important for canning. Prone to some intersting shaped cat-facing early in the season, but resists cracking and very uniform in mid to late summer. Great for markets.

Days: 68-78
Size: Indeterminate (produces fruit all season)
Season: mid-season
Color: yellow
Type: OP Heirloom
Uses: canning, slicing, salads, fresh eating

This Auction: You will be receiving 15 seeds from my garden. They will be sent First Class mail for FREE in the United States. I only take Paypal for International bidders. I will also combine any additional auction seeds (within 5 days) for no additional shipping charge. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 65°F in the spring. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Stake or cage the plants for support and to prevent sprawling on the ground.

Hi! Are these organic? Thanks :)

Yes, organically grown from first transplant to harvest. Though I am not certified organic as I am not legally required, the only non-organic method used is the original seed-starting medium which is a soil-less organic peat mixture, yet not certified itself. Everything else is 100% organic from soil to fertilizer to pest management to the fermentation of the seeds at harvest. I hope that explains better. Thank you for your interest.
