The listing, 4 Devil's Backbone, plant clippings!!!! has ended.
This auction includes 4 6-8in clippings. Will be clipped after auction is over. Will send simple care instructions with clippings. I have other auctions posted for spider plants also!!
what is the coolest weather conditions that this plant will survive in? I live in WA. state and in the winter we get tons of rain and lows of 40's during the day with little to no sun and at night it can reach down to low 30's. Would this plant survive here?
I wasn't quite sure so I had to look it up, the plant if you kept in a pot, (which you will have to do for awhile) would be fine for other than winter weather. In the cooler weather is when the leaves turn a rosy pink!! If you kept it in the house during the winter it would be fine. here is some info I found on it... Common Name: Devil's Backbone, Jacob's Ladder, Slipper Flower
Botanical Name: Pedilanthus tithymaloides (ped e lan' thus tith' e ma loi' dees), variegated
Family: Euphorbiaceae (yoo-for-bee-AY-see-ay)
Plant Type: Succulent Shrub
Origin: Sub-Tropical / Tropical Americas
Zones: 10 - 11, Sub-tropical -- withstands light frost or short cold spells in protected areas
Height: 2' - 4'
Rate of Growth: Medium
Salt Tolerance: Moderate
Soil Requirements: Moderately fertile, very but well-drained soil
Water Requirements: Water freely spring to autumn, keep fairly dry in winter, very drought tolerant
You can also grow these indoors in a glass vase with water. They will freeze so you will have to bring them in during the cold months. I live in sub tropical Texas and they do fine here but I am way down in tx
