Description

The listing, Lion's Tail (Klip Dagga) 25 seeds has ended.

Fresh seeds for 2013
Can grow up to 8ft but I have grown some in very small containers and they flower and do quite well at around 1ft tall.
Annual lion's ear/tail was originally native to tropical and subtropical Africa, as are the 30 other species in the genus.

Culture
Light: Full sun to intermittent shade.
Moisture: Annual lion's ear grows rapidly and vigorously with regular watering, but still hangs on during drought.
Hardiness: USDA Zones 8 - 11. Annual lion's ear reseeds itself and is capable of maintaining a self sustaining population in USDA zones 8-11. In cooler areas where the growing season might not be long enough for seeds to mature, I replant seeds in zone 5a
Propagation: Annual lion's ear is easy to grow from seed, and under favorable conditions will self sow. But that would be in Southern states where it's warmer. This is really a hummingbird magnet! They love this and what I've read seems to be true, that hummers spend more time at these flowers than most other flowers.

rockgarner, what is your zone? These should grow from at least zone 3 on up for summer. I have grown these inside as well during winter and I'm zone 5a. If your region is to cold, grow them inside until summer then place outdoors.
