It costs so much to send the stuff. I've spent 60 in the last week by sending items? How do I know how much to start bids at? How do I do GIN? How come I can't post over 5000 credits on my auctions. I send out every item the next day. Just wishing for some advice.

I and the majority of people go by 1000 credits per dollar. I list 50-60% lower than what I paid. Most don't start there prices as high as I do. I spend a fortune on high end items. Funny what some people classify as high end lol.
For a gin when listing click advanced to add a gin. Listia has put a limit on newer people on the starting amount. Your credits can be held at any time until the person clicks received or leaves feedback.
Being new it's a lot harder to get the value of a highend item. If you price it to high you rarely get bids, but you never know :)

I spend in ave $300 a month for priority with tracking.

I spend so much money on shipping and have posted all the nice stuff I own because I lost my job. But what's the point of all this? It's like I'm paying to give my precious things away. Im just trying to understand :; I don't feel that I'll ever make enough credits to get my family Christmas presents, please tell me why and how I profit from all this work ?? The package I sent today cost me $37.00

I understand your pain, darling. I am still pretty new, but one piece of advice that helped me a lot was using paypal for shipping. It was a little confusing at first but you can save some money using it. I have done little test runs on USPS.com also to see how much it will cost to send.

Great auction. Don't start your bids too low. If someone wants the item, they will pay for it. Also, charge a little for shipping. Use a flat rate box. You can send a lot for 5.85. You don't need to list expensive items. What ever you list, someone will bid on it. If you need more help, just ask. There are a lot of nice people here on Listia.

Thank you all for your advice. I sure need it. I try to list high end items and lots ( like 5 perfumes ) which cost a lot to send. I'm just trying to get credits so I can get Christmas for my kids but its costing me so much. It's like I'm spending 10 a day at the post office. And then people tell me that if I charge shipping then nobody will bid on my stuff and would block me. I'm so confused. But moving on cuz I have much more to list.

I send all items priority mail with tracking and insurance. So I'm paying for the box, the shipping cost and insurance lol. Crazy thing is I keep doing it cuz I keep hoping ill earn enough credits to get Christmas. Also I think I'm addicted to listia lol
