Description

The listing, * Diamond ring 10k gold* has ended.

This is a 10k gold diamond accented ring about a size 7 1/2. I'm not into gold anymore so I thought someone else might enjoy it. It is in good shape and easy to clean. Shipping is $2.50 and that can be paid through paypal. I will be doing a delivery confirmation on this one just because it is an expensive item. Thanks

Thanks for your reply (above). I just blew every last credit I had on the black diamond ring, but will have more coming in tonight so I'm hoping to have a shot at this ring. I think it will get quite a few more bids.

I don't blame you about the shipping. I have a pile of over-1-pound items to put on Listia, but can't pay $5 each to ship them, so I'm hoping they do okay even though I will have to charge something (maybe half the cost) to ship them. We'll see ... free shipping works like a charm to get lots of credits, but you can't ship heavier things free, too expensive.

Yeah sometimes you have to charge shipping it gets too expensive & with delivery confirmations & such. *JEESH* it's too much & if you have a smaller package the post office makes you do priority mail.

I think you can ship first class with delivery confirmation. You can't buy First Class postage online, but I think (but am not sure) you can buy it with Paypal. So, if you are getting paypal payments for shipping you should be able to click through and pay for the shipping label directly through Paypal, add delivery confirmation for First Class (which is included and free with Priority). In the past USPS.com let you buy First Class, but they don't any more. Did you see the news last night ... most postage rate hikes! Yikes!

No I did not, my god can they go any higher I am on short term disability right now & Listia keeps me entertain LOL. I just go to the post office it's down the street from me. Because one time I printed the label straight from paypal, from the USPS site and a couple days later I get the thing back. I marched my unhappy butt to the post office to raise hell & they told me * uh yeah sometimes doing it from home may not be accurate and they said I was not charged enough to ship it. I told them how is that my fault I put in the info through your site and it told me what to pay. To them it did not matter I had to pay another $1.00. So I just go inside now because I dont want anything coming back.

You underestimaed the weight. I use a little kitchen scale for little things, but over 13 ounces you have to buy Priority shipping. I used to be an ebay seller, so I also have a 50-pound scale (also comes in handy at the holidays for shipping gifts to family). It really is easy and cheaper to ship from home if you can, but you do need to weigh things that you suspect are over 13 ounces, with inadequate postage your package usually gets returned to you.

Yeah I found that out the hard way :( I have been looking for a scale on here, but going to the post office gives me something to do besides sitting at home all day (dr's orders) & getting a little piece & quite from the kids & hubby is nice LOL even if it is just to go to the post office :) That's so sad that I actually look forward to a auction ending so I can tell my husband gotta run around to the post office be back. I had 3 end yesterday & I was like *YES* quiet time for me I may stop by the library too.SO SAD. haha

I been reading your chat about the shipping... prepay and priority are rip offs. if you are sending something heave send it parcle post one way... if for some reason it has to come back to you you will have a fee to pick up, but i have never had that happen... example of what you can save is i shipped a weeding dress and veil to az. priority would have been $26... one way parcle post $10.25 less than 1/2... take a day or 2 longer to get there but if i have to pay fees i dont care how long... and most folk think the cheapest is the best... well thats my 2 cents... oh and andy u said they made you pay pryority? next time tell them no i want it shipped like this... they cant make you pay the higher rates.. best way for books, and multiple dvds,cd ect is media mail... light jewlry, single dvds ectfirst class... hope that helps... i know how much you can spend in shipping dont bleive me look at my feedback lol..

Yeah it was a necklace in a very small package I mailed out & the lady was like -uh yeah this has to go out priority because it is so small, it was tiny but only a little bit smaller than a envelope. That was the only time that has happened to me but it is still maddening spending $2.54 for a tiny package. Thanks for the advice :)

About going to the post office, I get it, I really do. My kids are teens now but I remember ... it is nice just to get out of the house and talk to someone. In a small town, the post office can also be quite the social hub .. lots of fun!

If you ship this in a 4x8 bubble envelope. You can ship it as 1oz. It will weigh no more than that and it will cost $1.58 with paypal. Just go to your paypal account and sign in. Click on multi order shipping to the right of the page (middle right hand side). When it comes up click on the ship to line. Add the address and all the info and hit save. Then choose add package type. Choose first class mail 2 to 5 days. Add the weight 1oz. And then you will be able to print the lable to tape to the envelope. Do not tape over the bar code. This lable comes with confirmation. You will be able to forward the confirmation # to the buyer. Paypal will do this auto if the buyer has a paypal account. Hope this helps.

Here is something else that may help as well. I am a jewelry freak so I made sure I knew what markings meant before going to flea markets and stuff because there you can get ripped off.
In the United States, for example, gold hallmarks are not always required on finished works of jewelry. They are, however, deemed necessary when a jeweler or manufacturer wants to put a purity stamp on a piece. A karat stamp is the 10k, 14k, 18k or even 24k mark on some pieces of jewelry. If a ring, for example, has a 10k mark on it, United States law requires that piece also bear a gold trademark.

In the U.S., gold trademarks are typically attached to company or crafter trademarked names. This means buyers can actually trace the origins of their rings or bracelets directly to their makers through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In some cases, these gold trademarks, depending on the company in question and the mark itself, can help date a piece based on its estimated production time.

how many diamonds does it have?
Feb 23rd, 2010 at 8:48:50 PM PST by

It is accented with diamonds all around the top and they are tiny ones. Kind of like clusters, and in the center the oval shape has a little tiny round diamond in it. Hope this helps

Is it solid 10k gold, or electroplate? (i.e. 10kte could be the marking on it).
Feb 25th, 2010 at 12:10:33 PM PST by
Original
It is 10k Thanks
Feb 25th, 2010 at 5:57:04 PM PST by
Original
It's a very nice ring, and you will probably get a LOT of bids, but just be sure it is solid ... the markings for electroplate are sometimes very deceiving. If someone receives it and it is not solid, they will probably ask Listia for their credits back ... just a little advice. Good luck!

Thanks, In the 6th picture towards the left side you can see where the engraved markings are it says 10k c4. And I hope this helps. Gold hallmarks or markings can be made up of two pieces of information. The first which most people are familiar with is the 'hallmark' or 'karat marking', the second piece can be the jewelers or manufacturers stamp, or the color/clarity of the diamond. Hopes this helps again.
