Description

The listing, Mystery Box (Laptop, Samsung Alias, & MORE!) - (Craig's last auction) has ended.

Hello Everyone:

This will be my last Listia auction. I know I haven't posted anything in months and have received a few emails about where I've been...

Lately I just haven't had too much time for Listia so I've decided to auction off all of my remaining stuff I planned on listing on this mystery box auction.

So with that aside, let's get to the auction:

Some great stuff in here:
- Samsung Alias 2 SCH-U750 (Verizon Wireless) with e-ink keyboard (like new!)

- A Dell Vostro 1500 laptop with 2GB ram. It seems to be having some problems booting now though, but it worked a couple days ago. Core2Duo procesor.
I'll leave a comment if I can get it working.

- That's just an idea of what's in here. LOADS of other great stuff. I'm leaving Listia with a bang.

As with all of my auctions, shipping is free for:
- All bidders within the US (including Alaska and Hawaii).

- Bidders in Canada who have previously won an auction from me.

Shipping costs vary for other countries:
- Bidders in Canada who have not previously won an auction from me will have an additional $9 shipping cost payable by PayPal.

- All other countries - $20 shipping.

- If bidding hits 25,000 credits. Shipping internationally will be free.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and wish everyone a happy and healthy new year.

Good luck bidding!

Craig

Great to hear from you! Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas! Good times indeed. I was filtering all my emails yesterday and saw all of the emails from last December when we were trying to win the TV haha. Good times indeed!

have you figured out what the problem is with the laptop and how m any items are gonna be in the box and do they all work.

I'm still not sure what the problem might be. Everything else works. I'm not going to say anything about the amount of items mainly because I keep adding stuff.

I wouldn't ship by UPS. I use to work at a marketing company and everytime I unloaded the UPS truck, almost half the packages would be flat where they just throw them around and dont take consideration for your package (all you have to do when loading a truck is put heavy items on bottom and build you a wall from there).

I wish you the very best with your auction and the best in life :)

I actually worked in marketing for UPS. We still have the highest performance rates for package delivery of all of the major carriers. I'm surprised to hear about that; in my experiences, UPS has always been the most reliable.

Here's what PopSci found:

FedEx is great too, though. It's just USPS that I hate because of their high package damage and loss rates.

Have a happy new year!

yeah, it sounds like maybe the power cord to the screen may have come loose and just needs tightened up. Awesome auction...Good Luck! :)
Dec 31st, 2010 at 2:14:57 PM PST by

That very well could be the issue. Hopefully it isn't too hard for the winning bidder to fix.

Are those stock photos or the actual items, Also does the cords come with the PC? and charger with the phone? Any update on the Laptop? and have you asked a PC guy what they think might be wrong with it? maybe take the battery out and try again.. I will be watching this one..
Dec 31st, 2010 at 12:09:13 AM PST by
Original
Stock photos. Let me know if you want actual pictures and I'll take some. All cords included with both.

I'm not too sure what's wrong with the computer. It boots every once in a while but I haven't been able to boot again. I did ask someone a few weeks ago and they said to restore windows (lame advice), but I did restore windows. The symptom is that when it boots, nothing shows up on the screen but all the lights turn on as if it's booting. Loose lcd assembly cable? I'll try to fix it today and see how it goes.

Thanks!

Will you include a tracking or confirmation number for the winner or would the winner have to pay for that? Thanks
Dec 30th, 2010 at 10:53:41 AM PST by
Original
I can't believe I forgot that part. Here it is:

I ship all my items via UPS Ground, so a tracking number is included.

I also encourage all Listia sellers to do this - it supports private enterprise in an economy where they need it most. Plus they don't lose stuff like the post office.

So yes, I ship Ground for free, and, if it's not too expensive, we can work out faster shipping if you need it. Ground w/ a tracking number is free for the US.

Well that one's up to you. The laptop ships with a brand new battery but for some reason I'm having trouble booting it. All the blue lights turn on but nothing after that. It's odd but probably isn't a difficult fix. If you're good with hardware, bid away!

I don't want to give away too many hints as to what I'm giving away but I will say that i'm including a sheet of two of the old vintage rainbow Apple stickers from the 80's that were included with the new macs back then.
