Description

The listing, Nikon N50 35mm Film SLR Camera Body has ended.

This listing is for a used but well-maintained Nikon N50 35mm film camera body. (sorry, I'm keeping the lens to use with my digital camera!) It's in great working condition, and is compatible with all Nikon Autofocus lenses. There are many used lenses available for this camera - many can be bought for about $50 if you're looking for a simple standard kit zoom lens, but you can find long ultra-zooms, macro lenses, fisheye lenses, etc in Nikon autofocus mount (although they can be pricey, because this camera uses the same mount as modern digital SLRs.)

This was a state of the art consumer film SLR about 15 years ago, and still work perfectly. It has full auto and manual capability, and everything works perfectly.

SHIPPING IS FREE the United States. Period.

Ask me any questions you might have - this would be a great way to shoot some film if you have/can get a Nikon AF lens to put on it. Happy bidding!

Sorry, Listia does not permit sellers to cancel bids. I put "FILM CAMERA" in the title, and showed the back of the camera where the film goes. i don't know how much more obvious and clear I could be about the fact that this is a film camera. Don't worry, I'm sure somebody will outbid you easily. Otherwise, lesson learned: read before you bid.

I did read it was 1.5 frames per second.

Thank you Joseph for the info about adapters. I know they have adapters but I dont know which brands to trust. I got a manual focus lens on here. It can be adapted to a auto focus camera. But in the long run it is still manual focus and it works better for the camera it was intended for.

For rues you can use it with adapters, but your MD mount lens would be best on a micro 4/3 mount camera - the distance from the focal plane to the lens mount is so small on that camera that you can actually put a pretty thick adapter between and still have infinity focus. I've done it before and it works pretty well. The electronic viewfinders are pretty good to use as well when manually focusing. In terms of putting a MD mount lens on this camera though, I wouldn't recommend it. There are adapters that have correction glass in them to correct for the infinity focus problem, but they reduce image quality.

Walmart, Costco, Walgreens, CVS will all still develop your film and put it on a CD.

Nikon N50 35mm Film SLR Camera Body. The title says it all and most of us know what it means. But not even the Sweet Pickles Bus could help some people.

It's kinda funny, but in all seriousness, I would MUCH rather somebody ask a question than bid on/win an item they dont want and leave rotten feedback.

A film camera? J/K. I am not young and have used plenty of "film camera's". Very nice. :)

Quick question, there are still places that will develop film and place it in digital format correct?

Sorry for all the comments and questions. I don't know much about the Nikons but I like to learn about them. I am checking this model out more online. This is a nice camera and if I can find a way I can adapt my lens to this Nikon that will be great.

BTW - you can put a minolta maxxum mount (also known as Sony A mount) lens on a Nikon using an adapter, but it won't autofocus, and you won't have aperture control. You'd be far better off saving money for a Sony digital slr if you are already invested in Minolta A-mount lenses because they will work perfectly without adapters on those cameras (a used A100 can be found for around $100). For this camera I would suggest using Nikkor AF or AF-D lenses. You can also use Nikkor AI or AIs lenses in manual focus mode.

does it have a memory card

No, it is a film camera, not a digital camera.

I have a Minolta Maxxum and I do know you can by adapters for the lenses. A Minolta lens will fit on a Nikon with the right adapter. Guess you can do the same with a Canon also. You said a DX lens will not work with this camera. My question is will a DX lens work with an adapter or not at all. Thank You.
Oct 26th, 2013 at 4:52:45 PM PDT by
Original
An adapter won't help this - the DX lens is built for a digital camera with a sensor that is 1.6x smaller than a piece of film, so it projects an image onto the focal plane that is 1.6x smaller than 35mm film. You can mount a DX lens on a 35mm camera, but it will take a picture that doesn't cover the whole frame - you'll get dark "vignetted" corners. Adapters are made to make physical lens mounts compatible (i.e. pentax to nikon, etc) - they won't change the optics of the lens (beyond sometimes preventing it from focusing to infinity if they add space between the lens and the camera)

Thank you for the info. I did see a DX lens on here for auction. Thank you for letting me know it wont work.

Does it come with an SD card. Sorry that was a joke. That is a nice FILM camera. Will any Nikon AF lens work on this? I was reading it had a D type lens mount. So I was guessing any Nikon auto focus lens will work. The only info I can't find about the camera is the frames per sec.

AF, AF-D and G lenses will work on this in autofocus mode. AF-S won't autofocus, and DX lenses won't work on it.
