Description

The listing, 18 Crepe Myrtle seeds has ended.

6 lilac, 6 fuchsia, 6 white seeds

Cold hardiness zones 6-9. Generally reaches up to 20 foot tall. Fast growing. Seeds are ready to plant. Start them now for seedlings this next spring.
Fill a 1-qt. size plant container three-quarters full of a general purpose potting soil and water it well until it is completely moist.
Place three crape myrtle seeds in the top of the soil at equally spaced distances and press them down gently with your fingers to secure them in the soil.
Spread a 1-inch layer of milled sphagnum moss on top of the seeds.
Fill a spray bottle with tap water and mist the top of the moss until it feels like a damp sponge that has been wrung out.
Place a piece of clear plastic wrap over the top of the pot and set it in a window or other brightly lit location.
Place a heating mat under the pot in the winter if the indoor temperature is not between 75 and 85 F, which is needed for crape myrtle germination.
Wait until the seeds germinate in two to three weeks, and then remove the plastic wrap and discard it. Begin watering the soil as needed to keep it constantly moist until the late spring.
Set the pot outside in a shady location once temperatures rise above 50 F. Leave it there for two to three weeks and then plant the trees in their permanent ground location with well-drained soil and full sunlight.
