The listing, Sony Handycam has ended.

This has been a great little camcorder. Comes with the charger, the battery, and the cord to plug it into a computer. It takes the Hi8 tapes for recording.

fanned and watching. Just won another similar and now she claims (9 days later) it's been stolen from her. For high value items like this would you mind either connecting a facebook or twitter account for us to see you are a real person, or take a pic with the camcorder next to a piece of paper with your Listia user name, and/or have a phone number verified through listia? they only take a moment and I would feel much more confident bidding, especially in light of this other newbies' listing and problems arisen from them. Thanks so much, I had my own hi8 stolen, so that's my preference and comfort level in use! still got lots of tapes and cables to transfer to "old school" VHS, LOL Thank you so much!

Hey Jan, Thanks fanning me! I haven't really looked into doing any of those other things, but if it will help I will change my profile pic to a pic of me. I would post a piece of paper next to the camera but I've already have it packaged up and ready to be shipped out. I can give you my word that I wont stiff you like the last person did if you win this item. I really just don't feel comfortable connecting with my Facebook account.
Hope this helps and I will fan you back as well. Thanks!

where do you get the tapes for it? how old is it? can I put the photo's on my camera then send them to my sister?

Wal-Mart has the tapes. I believe it's about 8 to 10 years old, not really sure about that. It only takes video, so you would need to hook it up to your computer and download it onto there. Not real sure how to do that either. I've always just used the tape. I use to have the VCR adapter but not sure what happened to that. Best thing to do would be to get the hi8 tape from Wal-Mart then video, then hook it up to your computer and download it from there. Hope this helps a little.

Oh, I forgot, are you able to still tell or know the model #? If not, it's ok seeing that you are already ready to ship. It looks like it has the 2 features I am trying to replace most from my stolen one, nightshot mode and records on hi8 tapes! I was just curious if my sony RCA cables and extra battery pack would fit this one too. Very cool! [Mine was a sony too, unfortunately had an unfinished tape inside with the first 5 years of my 2 kids lives :( so I am sure will fit in my sony bag and tripod, possibly even same RCA transfer cables to VHS via TV which I still have. and still have unopened hi8 tapes just sitting for over a year.]
