Here is a cancelled © USPS imprint block of four 55¢ stamps from the Great Americans Series featuring an image of the Dr. Alice Hamilton, the founder of occupational medicine, first woman professor at Harvard Medical School and the first woman to receive the Lasker Award in public health.
This definitive stamp, designed by Chris Calle, was issued on July 11, 1995, printed with engraved press plates of 400 subjects and divided into four sheets of 100, as supplied to post offices. These stamps are perforated 11.2 and were printed on phosphor pre-coated paper with surface tagging having a grainy, solid appearance. [Referenced in Scott as #2940]
