Yes there does seem to be a stone missing. I do however, have some more raw turquoise stones that I can add with this necklace to have cut and replace the one that is missing if needed. Thank you for pointing that out to me cause I did not notice it missing and thanks for stopping by.
I have had this necklace for a long time. I just found it again after many years and it was very dirty when I found it. I put it in silver jewelry cleaner and it cleaned up rather nicely. I remember that this necklace was made out of a buffalo/indian head nickel that i had found at the park one day. I had a friend who is a native american who loved to make jewelry, and when I went to him and was excited to show him this nickel I found that reminded me of him, he asked me if he could make it into a necklace for me, that excited me even more so I let him. He gave me this necklace along with some rocks that I still have as well. Those rocks he gave me are uncut raw turquoise. He said that is what the stones are around the nickel. Any one who knows how to cut rocks, shape and polish can do it, and it doesnt take much to make the stones that are around the nickel. This was over 20 years ago.
I am in the process of moving and not by choice either. I have entirely too much stuff. This is why I am getting rid of things. I figured that there must be people out there in the world who would like to have some of the things that I am getting rid of and would love and cherish them as much as I did or more. This is why I am posting them on listia.
