This is my amazing Blackberry Lily, also called Leopard Iris. These are a unique perennial with foliage like an iris, but don't mistake them in your garden. They are VERY different! They bloom with multiple orange flowers, speckled with maroon. Each flower opens only one day, but this show may continue for up to 4 weeks. After their first show, stay tuned for their next. They finish the season by opening a large seed-pod filled with shiny, black seeds that look like blackberries. Hence, the name. They grow best in rich, sandy loam. They are also deer and rodent resistant. They are quite drought tolerant and very little care is needed. You may need to stake your taller plants and mulch in cold winters. The only time I water these beauties is when I divide and replant them. I believe the "strong shall survive" in my garden.

Either they are more fragile or larger than the ¼” with padding that is required for parcel per USPS shipping rules. You only need to pay shipping for ONE of my auctions, as all other auctions for the week will be included FREE in the parcel. Parcel also includes a tracking number. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 65°F in the spring. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: Sow seeds shallow in soil 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 3-5 seeds per pot. About 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny location.
