Rare Climbing Lophospermum Vine
Asarina erubescens

Native to Mexico-Rare to U.S.!

This super fast growing sub-tropical climber with its triangular shaped leaves and downy vine produces an abundance of striking pink trumpet flowers with tiny spotted corolla's. The vine can reach a height of 12-16' in a single season and then die back until next spring.

Easy grow: surface sow in moist seed starter, give warm light (or tent and place under Florescent light). When seedling develops 'two sets of leaves' and the last frost has passed-set plant it in the ground and stand back for the show!

ps...as the baby seedling grows, it will be entirely covered in soft velvety hairs, including its leaves. When grown, only the vine itself, will retain these soft downy hairs.

ZONES: Due of its speed of growth this vine is treated as an annual in colder climates and a perennial in warmer no freeze climates.

I'll have to join your vine club, I'm up past 15 vines, not counting the grapes or the new seed I am greedily accumulating for next spring, especially when the vine has food or herbal value as well as lovely flowers :), I envy both of you your acres, my babies all share a small back yard for now . post some pix with your auctions next year so I can drool, please lol

You go girl! Funny thing is; most folks hear 15 vines and think that's way too many! And yet, because they're vertical and especially when grown in pots, they actually take up very little garden space. Love to hear your vine list...what's your top 5? As for the vine club-I'm working on it - - then, we can all post our pics and trade growing tips...will get back to ya :)
