I have the same exact phone. It takes up your minutes if you get on the web, you can't download anything without it taking a lot of your minutes. I personally don't like that it takes a lot of minutes I use the phone to call my baby doctor if I have to. And yes you have to have a SIM card for it to work.

ppl all you have to do is to call tracfone and they will send u a new sim card for this phone and the most they will chrg u if nething at all is 5 bucks to cover shipping. evry person has to have a new sim crd in order for the phones to work for them bcause each sim card is linked to each number/eim number of the phones and when u transfer them there has to b a new sim card unless the phone is brand new never activated. or if u plan on keeping the number registered on that phone right now if the person who is selling it doesnt want to keep the current number on their phone but if they had the numbr ported to a new phone then yes u will need a new sim crd which takes 3-5 days to get a new one in the mail. its not hard to get a new sim card.

also this is the exact phone I have and use. its a great phone and also goes online,has bluetooth capabilities,wireless links etc... it is really a powerhouse in such a small package. this is a touch screen phone and it has a great camera.
