The listing, *WOW* Blackberry 8830 World Edition GSM (sim card) & CDMA Smartphone has ended.

up for auction is a used VERIZON BLACKBERRY RIM 8830 WORLD EDITION with the battery and back door only. I dont have any chargers or cables for it but fortunately it has a good fully charged battery already so i could test out the features, buttons, lcd, track ball, etc. All of those appear to work just fine.This was given to me yesterday and i have no use for it. It came from a friend of a friend that had it stored away. The cool thing about this phone is that it uses 2 networks (GSM & CDMA). which means it can also take sim cards. Im not sure if its unlocked or not but it can be unlocked. In the 5th picture it shows a MicroSD memory card slot in the middle and if you look to the left of that you can barely see the slot where you can slide your SIM card in. Besides the fact this phone does not have a camera, it has pretty much every other feature you could ask for or expect from blackberry. Below is the ESN # (which is clean) & a link for support/downloads.This phone is used and shows some signs of wear. I took plenty of pics to refer to. As always i recommend you do your own research as well. Ill try to help out as much as possible.

lol no its not stolen i assure you. it has a clean esn which means if you or anyone else has verizon then it is clean and clear to activate. not on the "lost/stolen" list

i have listted other blackberries. you can get it flashed to work on metro pcs/cricket network. you can either get a software on ebay or you can take it to a store that specializes in flashing phhones in your area. in dallas we have metro pcs and there are alot of stores that specialize in flashing phones to metro pcs for a fee. im not sure if cricket stores flash phones but you may want to look into it. if not then check craigslist and see. in other words it is possible to get this to work on cricket or metro pcs. hope that helps

I would think so if you can get it unlocked. It does have a sim card slot as well. The world edition is designed to work on both networks. I dont see why not

yes it will. verizon is a cdma network but the world edition was designed for traveling to other countries that use gsm network as as well. if you dont have verizon then you will need to get the gsm unlocked so it can read other networks sim cards. it should tell you everything that you need to konw at the blackberry website.

thanks! i try to describe it as best to my knowledge. i want to make sure whoever wins get what they expect. Im not sure if you can use it prepaid or not. you will have to ask verizon that because i dont have verizon myself and not sure how their plans work. it is a smartphone so im not sure if you can use all or some of its capabilities on prepaid. i dont know everything so i suggest others do their research as well so there isnt any complications lol. thanks alot for being a fan. im always listing pretty good stuff and like to give back to the listia members.

its not mine. it was given to me by a friend. its stated in the description.
my carrier doesnt take sim cards and its not verizon so i cant use this phone.

all i know about this phone is i cant use it with my carrier, its verizon, has a sim card slot, and googled the rest of the info. i never personally used the phone. oh and the esn is clear for activation with verizon.
