Description

The listing, SCANNERS - new and unopened DVD! Classic David Cronenberg Film! has ended.

I’m a huge fan of director David Cronenberg and while The Fly had me intrigued, this is the film that convinced me that he was one of the most brilliant and important directors in history. A must have for any cinephile and fan of intelligent horror/ sci-fi, independent films, and exploding heads!
Here's a list of some of his films:
2012 Cosmopolis
2005 A History of Violence
1999 eXistenZ
1996 Crash
1991 Naked Lunch
1986 The Fly
1983 The Dead Zone
1981 Scanners
1979 The Brood

And so I ended up with two copies of this and am offering this one up for bids. The DVD is brand new in the package.

Cool film fact: The exploding head effect in Scanners was made by filling a prosthetic head with bought livers and shooting the head from behind with a shotgun.

Movie Info from Rotten Tomatoes:
The title of this David Cronenberg sci-fi horror film refers to a group of people who have telekinetic powers that allow them to read minds and give them the ability to make other people's heads explode. The children of a group of women who took an experimental tranquilizer during their pregnancies, the scanners are now adults and have become outcasts from society. But Darryl (Michael Ironside) decides to create an army of scanners to take over the world. The only person who can stop him is hisbrother Cameron (Stephen Lack), who wants to forget that he was ever a scanner. Winner of the International Fantasy Film Award at the 1983 Fantasporto Film Festival, Scanners was followed by a pair of sequels, neither of which involved Cronenberg. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi
