Not sure how old I don't see any markings on it. It works great though! It was on the front door when we bought our house and the wife said it had to go cuz it was annoying!! lol

I think our house was built in the 70's So not too old but you can tell it's pretty old by the gears and the patina.

the bell itself is about 2 1/2 to 3 inches wide and about 1 inch deep

i've seen these before. usually mounted in the center of the door. to install make a template of the the holes then drill the holes and mount one piece on either side. takes 2 people. my house is pre revolution, would look great.!!
