I have posted a few more photos, including the base showing the model number. It is for an iPod nano with a 30 pin connector.

I was given a black iPod nano, but no charger. I have a usb connector that goes into the earphone plug but even after being connected to my laptop for a couple of hours it never charged up enough to turn it on. I have no idea if it even has a battery or how to open it up to check on it.

There are seven generations of the iPod nano. These iPods have a 30 pin connector for power to charge and data. A iPod shuffle uses an adapter that plugs into the earphone to charge and add data.

This auction is for a cradle for an iPod nano.
