Description

The listing, Trifari Flower Pin/Vintage collectible!!!! has ended.

I believe this is a royal Crown Trifari piece but I can't say for absolute sure, because the stamp is right on the edge of the stem it's very hard to tell (see pic #4). But it is Trifari and Vintage, I've had it myself for a very long time! I'm guessing at least 30 years or more. It's a beautiful ,simple pin, great for everyday wear, and a collectible, too! Trifari began in 1925 with Gustavo Trifari and two other men. Trifari died in 1952 and later the company was taken over by the sons of the founders, In 1988 it became part of the Monet group one of the largest producers of fashion jewelry. I tried to research this piece quickly, and it is possibly a design of Norman Bel Geddes who designed for Trifari in the 1940's and '50's (he was known for his futuristic designs , particularly the GM pavilion at the 1939-40 World's fair. There is more info on him at Texas A&M university (papers that include some of his designs.) A bit more research might confirm this, but I cannot promise it will, it's just my theory. I don't do Paypal so shipping can be sent by Postal Money order or concealed cash (in a letter paper or card.) Ty for looking and if you have any info on this piece I would love to know!! Check out all my auctions, too please! TY for visiting!

I think you should put it back into the jewelry category. I know I'm a collector and when I'm looking for jewelry, I go there and not to the antique and collectible category. You can actually be flagged for putting things into the wrong category and this definitely belongs in jewelry.

I had it there ,no one bid. I don't think this would be flagged as it is both vintage and highly collectible. Kind of like Depression glass it fits into several categories(Depression Glass is technically not an "Antique" can be used as daily dishes or as collectibles to display in a cabinet.). There are more people moving jewelry like this to either collectible or Antique for the same reasons. Personally , I think it would be best to be able to "Cross" list things,(in two or three categories. I noticed someone with cookbooks was angry , they didn't want their cookbook in with books, but rather in the Cooking stuff. If Listia thinks it's wrong, I am sure they will let me know.(Some of these things are grey area). Many "Antiques" are not at all antique as the true definition is 100 yrs or older, clearly the vast majority , are not so old! And some things defined as "Collectible" one can argue, are not(ie recent used stamps, I've noticed quite a few of those lately!) ,but I do appreciate your concerns. (Somehow you did find me here, and I don't recall seeing you over in "jewelry"!!! So ,I figure this must be the right place! Though I am not perfect and am wrong once in a while!! )

Hope it helps but I have sold several "older" brooches in this category and I always mark them as "vintage." They have almost always sold the first try around. Good luck! F&B. God Bless!!
