While fastened I measured it from the latch down not unlatched stretched out. It is not heavy at all.

It want hang down 21". When it is fastened it hangs from the clasp to the bottom it is 10.5". I was going to add a pic of the measurement but it want let me add one now. I can email it to you if you want.
