Please take a clear picture of the marking which shows this bar is clad.
Without the mark (copy, clad, mills, etc) this bar is illegal to sell, trade or transport under counterfeiting AND copyright laws, and is therefore prohibited from Listia.

I understand you listed this item in good faith with a clear description; nevertheless, it is not legal or moral- continuing to sell junk like this only encourages the thieves who make them.

I've got news for you, Johnson Matthey does NOT make these...they come from China, unmarked and illegal, for $2 each.

"Johnson Matthey continues to refine silver and gold at its Utah and Ontario Canada refineries. However, JM only makes larger size silver bars today. They no longer makes the smaller size silver bars because it is not "cost effective" for them. Such bars are still obtainable from investors who bought them. Because they are no longer being produced, the supply of Johnson Matthey one ounce silver bars and ten ounce JM silver is limited."

This is why the Chinese are making the fake bars, knowing full well that jerks buy them with the intent of re-selling them as genuine.

@Kbergerman Did you actually READ any of the pertinent comments?
This is not about the seller, he was honest upfront. This is about breaking the LAW. This is about stopping the Chinese thieves who are wrecking our hobby.
JM does not even make 1 ounce bars anymore, they are made under license by a dealer in Dallas. But the one shown here is a fake from China. It will get into the market, and since it is UNMARKED, it will eventually be sold as real, on purpose or by accident, doesn't matter. Someone will suffer.
This bar would be perfectly fine to collect and/or sell IF IT WERE ***MARKED***.

I would still check their website because johnson matthey still sell silver over copper in their clad collection to this day.

I would love to see a link to the website you mentioned.................................because JM does NOT make 1 oz bars anymore. They stopped 30 years ago. A dealer in Dallas makes the current bar under license.
If the bar is clad, it comes from China.
End of story.
