The listing, Fullmetal Alchemist Pocket Watch has ended.
Been just sitting in my jewelry box unused. :I If you know anime/manga then chances are you know exactly what this is. :D Great for a fellow FMA lover. Also it looks like it has a black solid dot in the first pic...thats the camera lens being reflected XD
Only issues: One) Needs a battery. Two) It has some tarnish due to being unused...but im sure that can easily be cleaned. Or leave it cause it makes it look "used" and "authentic" XD
Happy bidding!! ♥
*I want to also note that due to my rural residence the item will be shipped no later then a week after being won*
Questions & Comments
It's not antique. It's a replica of the State Alchemist watch belonging to Edward Elric in the anime "Fullmetal Alchemist". Awesome auction! I want it! Watching, will bid. :)
Yea, it would be an interesting symbol/design when viewed by those who don't know what it is. ^.^ The cross on the back with the snake was actually adopted from a different source and doesn't ONLY pertain to the show. It's called the Flemel's Cross. He was an alchemist and christian who lived from 1330 to 1418. "It actually refers to creating a philosophers stone by "crucifying a serpent." It's a metaphor for purifying something that is venomous, or dangerous, and becoming stronger with it. From a Christian lens, this can be interprereted as overcoming Satan (traditionally symbolized as a serpent)".
Just so you know the symbolism outside of the anime spectrum. :p
Is it? I thought it was the date that Ed burned down their home as a reminder that they don't have anything to go back to and they have to keep pressing forward in search of a way to get their bodies back.
FMA is Fullmetal Alchemist. Thought it's not an antique it's actually a replica of the watch used by the animes characters, more specifically of Edward Elrics watch which also had the inscription on the inside cover. Still an interesting watch even for those who don't watch anime ^.^ Thank you for the "f & w"

It says "Don't Forget 3.Oct.10" It's from the anime show. The small writing is hard to read and basically states it's licensed by FUN (Fun stands for Funimation studios)
