Description

The listing, !!WOW!!(2 )GREEN VASELINE GLASS SWANS!!!! has ended.

Gorgeous!! 2 Matching Vaseline Glass Swans!! How often will you ever see a PAIR!!! These birdies mate for life! And these two just adore each others company!! And you will love them , too!! These are the real deal! And they do glow under black or UV light!! I had plans to make a lighted cabinet full of Vaseline Glass , so I have quite a few more dishes and Cups and various pieces, which I might add as we go along , if the bidding goes well! (So BID these up!!) , in which case the price for shipping will increase with the size and quantity of pieces! ). These maybe Fenton, I don't know how to tell, but this type of glass was made during the Depression (1929 was the big Stock Market Crash, and the years after were known as "The Depression" and called "Depression Glass" ,so these are also a piece of US History!! These glass swans may have been made by Fenton before they started to mark their pieces, I've read some predate the stamped ones. But I cannot verify that.I also know that Vaseline Glass does not feel "greasy" the name comes from how vaseline glass looks ,not by how it feels! Technically this is probably better called Uranium Glass , but over the yrs the term "Vaseline" has come to represent a great deal of Depression Glass though it is a misnomer. If you have questions, comments or information, I'd love to hear from you! And best of luck bidding!! I don't do Paypal, by the way, sorry! So you can cover the shipping with a Postal Money order or Concealed Cash in a card or wrapped in paper.Good Luck!! I've also added some swan pics I took myself! If you'd like copies, just ask and I'll post them on Listia for you to make prints!(Please do not copy these! You do not have my permission! They are my Copyrighted images! (But I do hope you'll enjoy looking at them!!) UPDATE!!! I ADDED NEW PICS UNDER UV(BLACK) LIGHT!!! GORGEOUS, right? Are these amazing or what???? Lots more coming!! Check my other auctions!

I do have Paypal but I don't know how to use it. I tried numerous times, some yrs ago. They said there was no problem, but no one could put $ in and I couldn't send payments out(one site we tried and tried, my back says all is ok , Paypal says all is ok, but when someone tries to pay or take $ out , Paypal keeps saying the buyer or seller needs to give a specified figure of what to take out and what to put in(of course they said they did Paypal says they didn't. It was just so frustrating, I gave up. Then more recently , I got a message my account status is non'active, cuz I wasn't using it!! Hahaha!! I TRIED!!! I just got so aggravated I've given up. I might give it one more try, but I'm not up to hours of frustration right now. The only thing I can suggest is that you could do prepaid postage (I guess, not sure how) maybe you can buy most of the stamps online? And mail them to me? (Get the dollar stamps if you can for most it except the last dollar or two use Forever stamps, as there is rarely room on the box for ten or twelve (I forget how much this one is,twenty? I can't see it either right now, I'm looking at "Questions and Comments" but you can't fit that much in Forever stamps on most boxes. Let me check the price(I'm not making $ on these! Just paying the Postage!! Lol!!)

How big of a black light do u need? I have one that i got when i was potty training our puppys. To check for accedents. And it might work its only about 6 in long though. Think that would work if i made a shelf for the swans and hung the light over them??
Nov 16th, 2013 at 11:43:44 AM PST by
Original
I think that should work, mine is maybe 9 to 12" they have them at Spencer gifts(in our mall) about $20 ,if yours doesn't work Mine is the color(the casing) of the Uranium green! So it really is prefect! (I just set it facing towards the glass(Never look at a blacklight!! It is like looking at the sun! ) so your eyes cannot see the UV at all! I put it on the shelf and some pieces I put on plexiglass boxes to raise them up a little, craft stores sell the boxes and some have clear plastic plats stands for the plates. I'd look online , too for ideas of how to display them (Under Uranium Glass Displays , or Blacklight Display cases.) I'm sure there are some!

Nov 13th, 2013 at 5:38:31 PM PST by
Original
Sorry! But do Check out my other auctions, they are all different. And you can also buy credits. (Listia does sell them,I forget where it is ,but somewhere on here. $40 gets you 16,000 credits and some days they have Special deals! Another way to get credits is doing surveys , watching TV and I forget what else, but that's what I did, surveys- I do recommend setting up a special mailbox though. Mine got so overfull , I had to delete it all.

Fanned & watching! What would shipping be to P.Pines Fl 33023? Thanks!
Nov 9th, 2013 at 3:13:08 PM PST by
Original
TY , I can't fan you back, sorry, limit reached.. And I wish the PO had a mid sized squarish box these fit into but ours doesn't, so I will estimate about $12. Meanwhile I can locate a box to get a better price, but I think that will cover it.(I want to leave enough space to bubble pak them pretty well (The $8.50 flat rate is too small).

Thank you! I LOVE these! I had a friend who collected this glass and he kept them in a curio cabinet with a black light installed. It was amazing!!!

Yes, that's what I had planned to do, in my old house I had a big Victorian China cabinet that was perfect, but when I left , the new owners insisted it was part of the deal(it wasn't actually attached!!) I decided it was better to give it to them than lose the sale of the house! Lol!. It was beautiful, with big arches , blown glass windows and a dark interior(I would do a Royal Blue flat paint inside, if you are thinking of doing a cabinet!) They reall are fantastic!!
