Description

The listing, Mardi Gras Mystery Box - Children Not Included! has ended.

Almost time for Mardi Gras again. Some of this has to go! The attic can not be re-enforced any more. LOL.

If you can't make it to Mardi Gras this year, but want to share in the fun, bid on my Mardi Gras Mystery auction. You'll get a 10" x 4" x 3" box chocked full of Mardi Gras throws (and not just all cheap beads). Box will include some nice and functional items: You'll get at least one cups, koozies, or stuffed animals, Of course you'll also still get the cheap beads and toys too. Maybe even a dabloon. The higher the bid, the nicer the items will be.

Kids or tree not included! I'll ship it free in the US, so what do you have to lose? Get a taste of Louisiana!

Okay, I apologize, but what is a dabloon?

Dabloon are those little metal coins they throw at the parades. Each one is specially minted and pressed by the riders in that parade (krewe) only for that parade. They usually have the year they were minted, the name of the parade krewe, the year the parade krewe began, the theme of the parade, and images of Greek gods and such. They come in all colors, but mainly silver, purple, green, or gold. They have no real value, but kids love to play with them and many people collect them because of the uniqueness of each one. My son collects them, but we also have many duplicates from years past.

Thx. This is their game every year. To bury each other under tons of beads while turning the house into a parade zone. They also love to sit on the bed or couch and pretend it's a passing float while throwing them at each other. We must have 500+ lbs of the things. Just ready to get a few of them out of here!

I love Mardi Gra beads...I been there a couple of time & collected some real neat ones....I am going to keep an eye on your auction, but I won't tell my husband he thinks I have enough all ready ~_~

LOL. Mine too, but I have to agree that 8 -60lb crawfish sacks full is probably too many to keep. Our bedroom looks like a bead museum, and we could easily have our own float. I'll be including at least one nice pair of the premium ceramic medallion beads.

You are too funny....I don't have that many if I did....um....I am sure my husband would not be too happy! I actually received these before I was married to him...so yeah it was fun! I am loving your auction ~_~

The joke about reenforcing the attic was not so much of a joke. It was fun aquiring the nicer ones, but find the kids to be magnets for 10x as much nice stuff. Babies still beat babes for throws, hands down.

LOL. Know what you mean. I have a 10 day limit to remove the pile from underneath the dining room table or the trash man gets it all.

We are thinking about having my daughters 18th birthday in a Mardi Gras theme and this would be perfect.
