Description

The listing, Uranium/Vaseline? GLASS -HANDBLOWN, GORGEOUS!!! has ended.

Fabulous Habdblown Uranium (Or vaseline, this one I'd really call Uranium , as the color is clearly green). This is a one of a kind! I know because I have blown glass myself! And there is a pontil mark on the bottom and you can see the jack marks inside, and caliper creases where it was pinched to form the ruffled edges! It does have a small chip on the outer rim , inside of a fold on the ruffle(see pics), which can be repaired or sanded down , it isn't noticeable on viewing, I found it running my fingers on the edges. For a piecethis age (I believe is is very old, because it came from my grandparents home in Mass. and my grandfather died before I was born. It may possibly even be older than that as my great grandparents handed down much to them. You won't see many like this on Ebay or anywhere else!!! My guess is it is Victorian from the early to late 1800's . I'm not an expert, though , so if you are I'd love to know more myself. Sorry I must charge for shipping as this will require careful handling. It will be heavily bubbled packed , and extra padding! I don't take Paypal, sorry, but you can send shipping in the form of a Postal Money order, or concealed cash. And I a not the speediest! Lol! So, please be patient!! It will arrive!! (I maybe pestering you more than you pestering me! Lol! I am a worrywart when it comes to shipping glass! It will be insured and have tracking..Give me a week to two weeks after shipping $ has arrived , to mail this. I have a lot going on and many auctions!!(Please! Do look at my other auctions, many Vaseline /Uranium pieces coming! (This maybe the oldest though). Hope you like it!! Also I am starting at 5000 because I know this is a good piece.

Looks like a piece by Fenton called Silvercrest in blue or aqua.(Go on Ebay and Type in that description) Not Victorian and Not Vaseline glass. (even though it glows under a black light, True vaseline glass is a yellowish green without a black light, never blue or aqua in natural light.)

Isn't all Fenton blown into a mold? This isn't molded it is handblown, I just wasn't sure(that's why I put the question mark next to "Vaseline" Some people call anything that glows under UV vaseline, I agree with you about the color, I'll check out the Fenton you mentioned., how old would it be ,then? I know this has to be older than 1953 (my Grandfather died then, and I know he had it well before that.I noticed there is a Vaseline Society, I thought I might check with them, as to the age and who made it.Rather than guess.

I see what you mean about the Silvercrest, but mine is not that bright white(and I don't see that those are uranium, I do have a piece that does look the same though!!Maybe I will take a pic, so you can see the difference! Not the same, but ty it helped to identify my other milk glass piece!(I'm going to try the blacklight on that one. Just to see, but I don't believe it's uranium like this one.

Not sure where you are , I'd say $12 would probably do it. I can check Monday if you want a more exact quote, leave your zip, Ty !! (It's too big for the $8.50 Square one, because I will use a good amount of bubble pak.)

USPS says they have a box 5 1/2 " deep, (the width and height are good) so assuming they have this medium sized box at the PO (it's Priority) is $12.35 which it about what I figured. If you want Extra insurance add $1.95 . Tracking comes with it. (I think they insure up to $50 on priority included in the price. ) If you want return receipt, or me to request you sign for it , or certified or any extras it's more.(you don't really need any of those, unless you live in an Apt . building where things might be taken,

No, I have another piece that is Fenton Silvercrest, it looks quite different when you see them together and it doesn't fluoresce under blacklight , the Fenton is a much whiter whit and there is no pontil mark , the bottom of that one shows ripples where it was cooled on cold metal(as I say I was a glassblower, I know the difference.

Yah, I really don't think it's Fenton, this has a higher quality look to it. I do have another piece of Fenton Depression , Uranium glass , but more important the White Fenton piece which is similar in that it ha the clear edge , is so much whiter than this! This one has an almost celadon tone to it.
